Fallen Trooper Tyler Edenhofer

Trooper Tyler Edenhofer was shot and killed after he and several officers responded to reports of a subject throwing objects at vehicles on I-10, near Avondale Boulevard in Goodyear, at approximately 10:00 pm.

Three Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and two Goodyear Police Department officers responded to the scene and attempted to take the subject into custody. The man resisted arrested and engaged the officers in a struggle that lasted several minutes. The subject was able to obtain one of the officers' duty weapons during the struggle and opened fire, killing Trooper Edenhofer and wounding another Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper.

We have been working over the last few days on various fundraisers and memorial activities for fallen Trooper Edenhofer and wounded Troopers Dorris and Rodecap. You are invited to all of these events. The families, Troopers, and DPS family are so grateful for all of the support they are receiving during this difficult time.

The FOP Lodge 2 and 32 BBQ. Friday, August 10. Please join us!

We will be at Lodge 2 (3520 N 7th St., Phoenix) from 11:00am to 8:00pm tomorrow grilling up burgers and hot dogs (and veggie burgers) in support of Trooper Edenhofer's family and Troopers Dorris and Rodecap.

Please drop by anytime. We'd love to see you. We'll have a 50/50 raffle (need not be present to win), Memorial shirts, and wristbands for sale. Thanks to Santisi Brothers Pizzeria and Sports Grill for an incredible food donation! Willie Itule also donated produce.
